CoolSculpting is most suited to people who are relatively fit and have modest fat bulges around the abdomen or back. It is not a treatment for obesity, and can not remove a large volume of fat.

What is involved?

The treatment takes around two hours. A special applicator cup is placed on the fatty area and uses a gentle vacuum to deliver a cooling technique called Cryolipolysis. Initially, you may feel a little uncomfortable as you feel a sucking and cooling sensation, but after a few minutes this goes and you can sit back and relax, or carry on working!

The device targets your fat cells, freezes them and kills them without damaging the surrounding tissue. The fat cells are eliminated naturally over the next few months, leaving the body through the metabolic process, just like the fat from the food you eat.

There is no down time after your treatment, although you may feel a little bruised and swollen for the first few days.

Is it safe?

Yes. The cooling delivered to the skin is warm enough not to affect anything other than fat cells in the body. This is because fat freezes at a much warmer temperature than water.

Is there any downtime?

No. As the treatment is completely non-invasive, you can return to all your regular activities immediately. Some people will experience a little redness, minor bruising, tingling, or numbness in the treated area, but this is temporary.

What are the results and how long will they last?

You should see results in 2-4 months as the fat is slowly eliminated from your body. Expect a smoothing of the area as irregular lumps and bumps disappear.
